Tech Ed 6 and 7
3 Week rotation
Prerequisite - None
Class Focus: 6-7
This is an introductory class to expose 6th and 7th grade students to the the vast opportunities in the tech ed fields. Students will explore career areas in the many fields associated with tech ed. They will learn tool identification, tool use and safety and have the opportunity to use their newly acquired skills to complete shop projects in both woodworking and metalworking.
Objectives
The student will:
1) List 10 Businesses in the area that would hire a worker with tech ed skills.
2) List 10 specific skills that a tech ed worker would need to have to gain employment.
3) Be able to identify basic woodworking and metalworking tools.
4) Be able to safely use basic hand tools to complete a desired task.
5) Be able to apply a high degree of craftsmanship to each project.
